NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- North Kansas City School District contacted police Friday after an alarming Instagram page was created.

The page requested nude photos of Maple Park Middle School students. The administrator claimed to be an eighth grader at Maple Park.

The district issued this statement in response:

"NKC Schools was recently made aware of a potentially inappropriate social media account. While the account was in no way associated with the district, immediate steps were taken to have it shut down and removed from the Internet. Instagram did just that within hours of our request.  Law enforcement was also alerted so that they could further pursue the issue.  Upon investigating, detectives indicated that no photos of any type were ever posted on the social media site and that students were not associated in any way with the account."

Law enforcement was alerted and detectives say no photos were ever posted to the page and that students were not associated with the account.
