KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dozens of people came to Freedom Fountain Friday night to protest for peace. The protest comes after three children have been shot in Kansas City over the past week. Two of those children were killed and one has life threatening injuries.

“When you see something happening or something going on, you have to tell it,” said Teresa Elliott, creator of a group called Kansas City Outrage. “You have to speak because if not you are accountable for it too.”

Members who came out for the peace protest said they are upset to learn a two-year-old girl is in life threatening condition after being shot Thursday night. The shooting happened near a Church’s Chicken near Gregory and Prospect. Police said four people were shot, one of them was killed.

A GoFundMe.com post from a woman who claims to be one of the victim’s aunts, said the two-year-old, named Reign, was shot in her head.

The peace protest also came after 8 and 9-year-old boys were shot and killed last weekend in a home near 58th and College. The two were cousins.

Police haven’t made any arrests in either of the shootings. If you know anything they ask you call the TIPS hotline at (816)-474-TIPS.
