FBI seeks suspect who robbed Bank of the West in Lee’s Summit

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — The Kansas City FBI is seeking the public’s help to locate a man who they say robbed a bank in Lee’s Summit Wednesday.

The FBI says around 10 a.m., a man entered the Bank of the West located at 700 NE M-291 Highway, brandished a weapon and made an oral demand for money.

The suspect departed the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male who is in his late 20’s, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black stocking cap, gray shirt, long dark pants and gloves.

According to the news release and surveillance photos, the suspect’s face was covered during the robbery.

No injuries were reported.
