Man shoots burglary suspect, leaves suspect with serious injuries

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A burglary suspect has serious injuries after he was shot early Wednesday morning.

Police say around 12:39 a.m., officers received a call about a shooting call in the 2500 block of North 17th Street.

The caller told police he observed a person breaking into his vehicle and confronted him. The man told police that following a confrontation one shot was fired and the suspect fled north on foot.

Police located the suspect in the area of 17th and Rowland. The suspect was then transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable but serious condition.
