SUV crashes head-on into school bus headed to Raytown High School

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after an SUV crashed head-on into a school bus early Wednesday morning.

Police say around 7 a.m., a black SUV was heading westbound down a hill when it slid across the center line and hit the front of the bus in the 6100 block of Sni-A-Bar.

Police say 25 kids were on the bus at the time of the crash and weather was a factor.

Sni-A-Bar is expected to be closed until at least 8:40 a.m.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries. A student who was sitting in the back of the bus at the time of the crash hit his head so his mother was going to take him to the hospital.
