FBI, Warrensburg police investigating bank robbery

WARRENSBURG, Mo. — A man who threatened that he had a bomb strapped to him robbed a UMB Bank branch at 414 N. McGuire on Thursday afternoon. The Warrensburg Police Department says the man who appears to be in his 50’s gave a note to the teller with the threat and demand for cash, and left the bank going south with an unreported amount of money.

Officers responded to the robbery at about 2:15 p.m.

The suspect is a white man with a mustache who is about six-feet tall with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a white hat, sunglasses and a camouflage shirt.

Police say they may release surveillance video on Friday. Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery should call the police department at (660) 747-9133. The FBI has also been notified of the robbery.
