Fla. man pulled over in Platte County allegedly tells officers to take “all his money and just let him walk away”
PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — A Florida man is accused of trying to bribe three Missouri Highway Patrol officers after a highway stop where he was found with drugs and a handgun.
Stephen Medley, 29, of Tallahassee, allegedly offered the troopers $2,000 in cash after he was pulled over in northern Platte County along I-29 for having windows that were too darkly tinted.
According to court documents, Medley told three Missouri Highway Patrol officers to take “all his money and just let him walk away.”
Officers found $2,092 in cash, nearly two-pounds of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine and a loaded handgun during their search of Medley’s vehicle.
Troopers also say Medley gave a false name to an officer after he was pulled over.
Medley is charged with the felonies of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a weapon, and bribery of a public servant.
