KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is in critical condition Thursday after a shooting in the 7600 block of E. 90th Street.

Police say they were dispatched to the scene at 12:28 p.m., in regards to a shooting.

Responding officers found a 23-year-old man lying in the backyard of the apartments near 89th and Loma Vista and suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen.

First responders transported the victim to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Sgt. Todd Marckx, who was at the scene, says he counted six to seven bullet holes on the home.

Police say they are looking for a black male wearing a red ball cap. Police did not release any further suspect information.
