KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A motorcyclist died from his critical injuries after he was in a crash with an SUV on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend at about 7:30 p.m., at 12th and Fremont.
Police said the driver of the motorcycle crashed into an SUV at a four-way stop. Police believe the motorcyclist ran the stop sign.
The motorcycle collided with the SUV's passenger side, causing significant damage. The driver of the motorcycle, identified Wednesday as Andrew Smith, 27, actually ended up inside the SUV from the impact.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with injuries and is expected to be okay.
Police said the driver of the SUV is cooperating with police and that alcohol was not a factor.
The incident remains under investigation.
