KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- FOX 4's monthly "Zoo To You" segment is full of fun. Each month a member of the Kansas City Zoo brings an animal by the studio and shares what makes them so unique. On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Sean Putney brought a macaw named Ruby.
According to Sean, macaws are not something you will see in the wild. Sean adds the macaws have the brain capacity of a two or three-year-old and require a lot of room and attention.
"If you don't give them the care they need, they might not be very happy birds as they are growing up," Sean said.
The Kansas City Zoo will be hosting Chiefs Day at the Zoo on Saturday, Sept. 10. Everyone is invited to learn more about the Chiefs and the animals at the zoo.
