KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police in Kansas City, Kan., took one person into custody Wednesday for questioning in regard to a recent shooting.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says KCK officers began chasing a vehicle near K-32 and Kansas Avenue around noon. Police say the male driver with a female passenger traveled down Holiday Drive to I-435, sped down I-435 to Kansas Avenue. After about 15 miles they ended up in a residential neighborhood near North 59th and Cernech.  Once there, police say the man and woman hopped out of the black, Chevy truck and ran into the woods.

Officers say they found the woman passed out in the woods.  They spent about two hours looking for the man, but believe he was still hiding in the woods.

According to Officer Tomasic, the two are wanted for questioning in regard to a shooting that happened on Sunday, Aug. 28 in the 300 block of North 36th. That shooting happened around 3 a.m. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
