Johnson County prepares for Old Settlers festivities

OLATHE, Kan. -- Preparations are underway for a big weekend celebration in Olathe.

Johnson County Old Settlers festivities get underway Thursday evening for the 118th year.

Nearly 200,000 people are expected to attend the three-day celebration. Carnival rides, games and meat on a stick are big draws.

Events run all day and evening Friday and Saturday highlighted by the largest parade in the state of Kansas Saturday, which starts at 10 a.m. More than 65, 000 people are expected come out for the parade, which has approximately 160 entries. FOX 4’s Mark and Loren, Nick and Kim, Mary Pulley and Rob Collins will be there waving to the crowds Saturday morning.
