Several pets die in Lee’s Summit house fire

A Lee's Summit home sustained extensive damage when a fire broke out around 6:17 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11.

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. —  A fire caused extensive damage to Lee’s Summit home Sunday night and killed several of the family’s pets.

Firefighters believe an electrical problem started the fire that damaged the home in the 4200 block of Furlong Drive.

Firefighters knocked out the fire in about an hour.

All of the people living in the house were accounted for and made it outside safe.
