Police identify driver who died after crashing into front porch of Kansas City home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A driver died after crashing into the front porch of a Kansas City home early Sunday, police said.

Authorities said around 1:15 a.m., a driver in a gold Chrysler van heading southbound on Chestnut Avenue apparently lost control of his vehicle on a curve.

The van drove through two yards before crashing into the front porch of a home in the 2800 block of East 73rd Street.

The victim, identified only as 64-year-old John Turner of Kansas City, was transported to an area hospital, but died shortly after his arrival.
