KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- If you have a cat or dog you know their vet bills can really add up even for basic vaccinations, but there is a local clinic that helps the lower income families keep the costs down.

Spay and Neuter  Kansas City is a non-profit organization whose veterinarians specialize in spay and neuter surgeries. The clinic is the only targeted spay neuter program in the Greater Kansas City area working to help all families in need regardless of financial means.

"It is a big help," feral cat owner Robin Martin said. " I couldn't imagine what it would be like without places like this."

Earlier this year, the clinic started a fundraiser to raise $75,000 and during the month of September. The money is used to help keep the care costs low. The clinic also works to get grant funding so they can subsidize services.
