Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street hopes to increase holiday traffic with gift card option at 50 businesses
LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — For people who enjoy strolling downtown Lee’s Summit to shop and eat, now might be the time to start ‘dropping hints’ to those who buy you Christmas gifts.
Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street has launched their new gift card program, just in time for the 2016 holiday season. The new gift card will be accepted at more than 50 downtown Lee’s Summit businesses and restaurants.
“This is our first years for the gift cards. It’s brand new. It’s replacing a gift check program that we had previously that was kind of outdated and so we wanted to modernize it this year and make something very affordable or familiar with people,” said Donnie Rodgers, executive director for Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street.
“We started this program with the goal of getting it ready for the holiday season because we know so many people are looking for gift-giving ideas during the holidays and there’s nothing easier than a gift card and so the reason we looked at this is this is one gift card that can be used at over 50 businesses for the pickiest of persons and the hardest to shop for this is a great solution,” Rodgers said.
The gift card will be accepted at 50 downtown Lee’s Summit businesses, which means you can pay for such things as: renting a tuxedo, getting your oil changed, buying a bottle of wine or going out to dinner.
You can buy the new gift cards at the website: downtownls.org/giftcard or by going in person to the office at 13 S.E. Third Street.
“We’ll be happy to see new faces downtown,” said Rodgers.
