WASHINGTON -- Two Kansas City firefighters who died in the line of duty last fall were honored Wednesday in Washington D.C.

The Congressional Fire Services Caucus presented American flags to be flown over the U.S. Capitol.  After they are raised over the capitol, the flags will then be presented to the families of Larry Leggio and John Mesh during a memorial service on October 9th.

Leggio and Mesh died last October while battling an apartment fire in the old northeast neighborhood. Their names will also be added to the National Firefighters Memorial.
