Police seek serial exhibitionist scaring women around the metro

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A naked man has been spotted walking around in public in the suburbs. FOX 4 first told you that two women leaving the Plaza Art Fair spotted the man, and now he's scaring women in Johnson County.

“It`s not something you see every day, just catches you off guard, you know?” said Terri Owens, after a man exposed himself to her.

She's not the only one who's been caught off guard by a naked man, and now police are issuing a warning to others in the attempt to find the man before he strikes again.

Overland Park police have taken five reports in less than 24 hours of a nude man approaching women in parking lots, and there may be more victims out there. The vehicle police are looking for right now is a red or maroon Jeep with no tags displayed.

“We were in the drive-thru, and I started ordering, and my niece, who is like 12 years old was in the back, and she was like what, and I turned around when I was in the drive-thru, and looked to the left, and saw a guy over there just totally naked, with tennis shoes,” said Crystal Schuler.

Schuler and her sister, Terri Owens, were going through the Starbucks drive-thru Saturday night in Olathe when they saw the naked man.

“What made me mad is my daughter was in the car, she`s only 12 years old, and she`s the first one that saw him, so it`s bad enough that we saw it, but her seeing it made it even worse,” added Owens.

But police say the man isn't staying in Olathe. The man is accused of approaching two women leaving the Plaza Art Fair -- and there are also sightings in Overland Park.

“We had five reports within 24 hours of a white male who was approaching women in local parking lots, taking off his clothes, exposing himself to them, then running away,” said Officer Jackie Zickel, with Overland Park Police.

One metro woman, Rachel, said it happened to her.

“I was walking down Nall north, passing Top Golf, when a man yelled for my attention, and I looked over, and he was naked,” Rachel said.

Rachel said she was caught off guard and ran away, and then reported the naked man.

“When I was running, I kept looking back, because I was like, I don`t know if this guys going to chase me or what,” Rachel added.

Owens and Schuler say they are certain it`s the same man involved in all of the sightings.

“Yeah, I was thinking, oh my god, that's the same guy we saw at Starbucks! Red jeep, no license plate,” said Schuler.

“This is extremely uncommon, and we definitely want to figure out who he is and get him off the street,” added Zickel.

Police nor Top Golf would release any surveillance video to FOX 4. Everyone involved said it’s disturbing, and they want him to be caught so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. If you have any information please call your local police department.
