KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To understand how doctors are using technology to detect cancer in early stages, FOX 4 invited Dr. Christopher C. Formen of North Kansas City Hospital to discuss the difference between 2-D and 3-D mammography. He also shared ways to reduce your risk factors.

Ways women can reduce the risk factors:
- maintain a healthy weight
- exercise
- limit alcohol consumption
- stop smoking
