WaterFire KC lights up Brush Creek

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Flames lit up Brush Creek along the Country Club Plaza Saturday night. Dozens of flames were lit all along the water for the tenth annual WaterFire KC event.

There were also live performances along the creek. Organizers said the event has become a great way to showcase local talent.

Almost 30,000 people have attended in years past.

It's a great event. Some of them may have been down here a week ago for the Plaza Art Festival. This is kind of a continuation of some of these great fall activities, join in one of our outdoor activities at one of our parks, and being able to have friends and family, a little socialization, great entertainment" Parks and Recreation board member Mark McHenry said.

The event was free and open to the public.
