Olathe DMV re-opens after evacuation on report of suspicious package

OLATHE, Kan. –The Johnson County Department of Motor Vehicles office in Olathe is back to business Monday afternoon after authorities evacuated the building on a report of a suspicious package.

A backpack was reportedly found abandoned at the DMV on Ridgeview Road shortly after noon. Emergency crews evacuated the location as a safety precaution while they investigated.

Investigators gave the all clear and the DMV office re-opened shortly after 2 p.m. They said people who were in queue before the evacuation were able to return to their place in line.
