Fans of “Gilmore Girls” flock to local coffee shops as Luke’s Diner comes to life
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fans of the hit show “Gilmore Girls” flocked to coffee shops across the country on Wednesday for their chance to experience a pop up version of Luke’s Diner.
The Roasterie gave away 150 cups of coffee at each of its locations for the event. The coffee came in disposable cups mimicking the diner’s name and logo.
Even employees at The Roasterie were impressed with the popularity.
“We had no clue, we knew people would show up, but the turnout was mind blowing, we were happy to be a part of it,” Brandy Whisler with The Roasterie said.
In the show, the coffee shop is where the two main characters, Lorelai and Rory, spend most of their time.
The pop up shops were part of a nationwide promotion for the upcoming “Gilmore Girls” mini series consisting of four episode. It premieres on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 25.
