Police pursue shoplifting suspect after she allegedly hits Raytown officer with car during escape attempt

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police say they pursued a shoplifting suspect from 350 Highway and Gregory into Kansas City, Mo., where the suspect bailed from the car Friday morning at about 11 a.m.

At the beginning of the incident, the suspect hit a Raytown police officer as she was trying to flee from them in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Raytown at 350 Highway and Gregory. The impact knocked the officer to the ground but the officer was not seriously hurt.

When police stopped the suspect about five miles away they say they found several bags of goods that they believe she shoplifted, including bags of bedding items.
