KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police were looking for a missing and endangered girl after she went to take her dog for a walk on Wednesday night, and didn’t return home with the dog. Police say Elexis Pinks hadn’t been seen or heard from since 6 p.m., and officers were called to the 5300 block of Rinker Road to look for her at 7 p.m.

Shortly after 11 p.m., FOX 4’s Dave D’Marko was on hand when Elexis’ family got the news that she had been found.

Authorities said they feared for Elexis’ safety because she doesn’t know many people in the area, and she and her dog are said to be inseparable. She also left her glasses at home.
