OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Don't expect to rush out to Oak Park Mall after chowing down turkey this Thanksgiving. Mall management said Wednesday it will be closed on Thanksgiving day this year.

Oak Park mall will open at 6 a.m. on the dot Black Friday. The mall said its workers and retailers should be able to spend time at home.

There are exceptions. Any store with an exterior entrance like a department store or the movie theater will have the option of remaining open on Thanksgiving.

The Mall of America, the nation's largest shopping mall, announced last week that it would be closed for the holiday.
