Shooting and chase ends with two people in custody, one person in the hospital

A thursday night shooting and chase ended with two people in custody and one person in the hospital.

RAYTOWN, Mo. — Raytown police are investigating a shooting and chase that happened Thursday night.

Police say around 10:30 p.m., multiple shots were fired near 9700 65th Terrace in Raytown.  An officer was nearby and heard the shots. Police say others also called 911 and reported hearing shots.

Police learned the victim left the scene and was taken to hospital by a private car.

Officers located suspected vehicle involved and chased it into Kansas City, Mo.

The car stopped on an off-ramp at 71-Highway and Emanuel Cleaver Boulevard after hitting stop sticks, and the suspects ran into the woods.

Kansas City, Mo., police helped Raytown officers find the suspects by using a K-9 and helicopter.

Police took two suspects into custody.

According to police, the victim is expected to be okay.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
