OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Overland Park police are warning residents to be alert after a woman reported that a man tried to abduct her Friday morning.

Police say around 7:15 a.m., near the intersection of West 105th Street and Barkley a man tried to grab a woman, but the woman fought back and used Mace to ward off the suspect.

The woman described the suspect as a very tall, skinny, white male who was wearing a black or dark blue hoodie with a logo on the front pocket and dark color pants.

Police say the suspect was last seen running west towards Metcalf.

According to police, an older white Buick sedan was seen in the area earlier in the week. Police say they have not confirmed whether the vehicle is related to Friday’s attempted abduction.

Overland Park police say the woman suffered minor physical injuries due to the Mace.
