Young KCMO mother kidnapped from front porch of home and raped is able to escape abductor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A young mother was kidnapped from her home in Kansas City, Mo., early Friday morning, and now she's crediting an officer who helped save her life.

Police a man with a gun abducted a woman he knew from the front porch of a home near 36th and Cleveland. Police say the man then drove the woman around and raped her.

Around 4 a.m., officers  noticed the vehicle driving erratically near 39th and Prospect and tried to pull the driver over, but he pushed the victim out of the vehicle.

Police were able to take the suspect into custody in the 500 block of NW 72nd Street.
