Police ID victim in fatal stabbing on 21st and Askew

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities have identified the victim in a stabbing that occurred Saturday in Kansas City.

Police were called to 21st and Askew around 8:10 p.m. Saturday on a report of a cutting. On arrival, officers found one man suffering apparent stab wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man died of his injuries hours later.

The victim is identified as 20-year-old Deanthoni Sanders.

Neighbors told police they heard the sounds of two men arguing before the victim was found with stab wounds.
