Kansas City police are on the scene of a suspicious death investigation, Wednesday, Oct. 26.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police updated a suspicious death to a homicide after a body was found Wednesday.

Officer Darin Snapp with the Kansas City Police Department tells FOX 4 around 11:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to an area near East 8th Street and Forest Avenue upon reports of a body.

Responding officers found what they believe to be a 40-year-old man dead on the sidewalk.

According to police, witnesses were walking by and found the manĀ unresponsive.

PoliceĀ called it a homicide investigation after determining the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.
