Two in custody, one still on the run following traffic stop turned police chase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City, Mo., police are searching for a suspect after a traffic stop turned into a chase early Thursday morning.

Police say the chase started as a traffic stop around 1 a.m., at Gregory and Prospect.

Two males and one female suspect fled the stop, and police pursued them north on 71-Highway. Police say at one point during the chase the suspects pointed a long gun out the window at pedestrians.

When police caught up to the suspects, they ditched the car and took off on foot.

Police say someone was Tased at 62nd and Agnes, and dogs were brought in to help with the search.

Police were eventually able to catch two of the suspects after searching for nearly 45-minutes. Police say one person is still on the loose, but they did not release a description of that suspect.

Police say they found items in the ditched vehicle that appear to be stolen from UMKC.
