NKC graduate takes his love of science and technology into classroom to inspire young students

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A former North Kansas City School District student is back in class to inspire current students with his love of science and technology.

Andrew Corrao is the general manager of Kansas City's first escape room, and he is now taking that concept into his hometown schools to get nearly 1,000 kids excited about science and technology.

Corrao is currently the general manager of Clue Pursuit. During his trip back to the classroom, Corrao used the games and puzzles of escape rooms to get young kids excited about STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering and math. They've got fun stuff planned from now through summer school. Parents can come play with their kids after school Monday, Nov. 7.

"We will give them a puzzle and let them figure it out on their own," Corrao said. "And then stress the fact that hey you guys didn't get it at first, but you kept working on it as a team. Maybe you asked for help, and you got there in the end, and you came away with something cool."
