LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — The Lee’s Summit School District tweeted Friday morning that classes at Summit Technology Academy are canceled Friday due to a nearby fire.

The district says no other LS R-7 schools are impacted.

High school students who normally go to Summit Technology Academy for half of a day are to report to their high schools for the day.

The fire was in the north building of the Summit Technology Campus.

There were no additional hazards found and no injuries reported in association with the fire. Fire damage was contained to the area around the large piece of equipment with smoke damage throughout the remainder of the Diodes/Fabtech fabrication area. After the fire was out and air monitoring was complete; all of the buildings tenants were allowed to reoccupy the building with the exception of a portion of Fabtech/Diodes.
