Buzz surrounds Baker sports, as soccer and football prepare for semi-final matchups

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. -- Baldwin City is buzzing because the Baker University women's soccer team is playing in the NAIA national semi-finals against the top-ranked team in the country Friday at noon, and the football team is preparing to host a national semi-final Saturday at Liston Stadium.

The undefeated Wildcats are in the semi-finals for the first time since 1993, back in the days of legendary head coach Charlie Richard. The cats are the second-ranked team in the country.

If they beat Eastern Oregon, they will play for their first national championship since 1986.
