OLATHE, Kan. -- A little boy's hard work is making a difference for one local police department.

The group Going to the Dogs was able to present officer Axel with his K-9 vest Wednesday night thanks to 7-year-old Grant Schroeder.

Grant, who dreams of being a police officer, heard about the group and decided to put together a Kool-Aid and cookie stand to help them raise money.

In just three days, he raised  $1,200.

Going to the Dogs says vests cost about $900 each, but are vital to protect  K-9 officers.
