KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs fans couldn't be more excited about how well they're doing this year. Metro fans say they do all they can to show their appreciation but Sunday night hundreds got to thank linebacker Justin Houston in person.

Linebacker Justin Houston is a Chiefs favorite. Don't believe us? Just check out this metro sports store, filled with Chiefs fans.

"I hear it's outside. It's pretty long. He's a popular person," fan Christina Heppler said.

All so fans could thank Houston for his hard work, returning from injury, helping to their team to first place in the division right now.

"I think it's great and I think they can go all the way. I think this is their year."

Some fans brought jerseys, some brought footballs for Houston to sign, others just wanted a quick pic with #50.

"Can I get a selfie?"

But one fan brought something that even Houston couldn't get over.

"Drawing a dedication to Eric berry when he did his awesome pose, I love it. When he gets a sac I love it when he lifted up his shirt and showed Eric Berry's number. It means a lot to me," Nate Plemons said.

It means a lot to Plemons because his mom fought breast cancer. She's in remission now, but Nate drew the picture of Houston paying homage to Berry in a time when the two of them were helping their family get through.

"That's nice man," Houston said.

Nate's drawing is now complete with signatures from Berry and Houston, two men who for this mother and son were much more than football players, they were an inspiration.

"Ah, it's awesome. Ah. So awesome. A dream come true to be honest. It's great."
