HARRISONVILLE, Mo. -- Firefighters in Harrisonville were on the scene of a large fire at an apartment building near Twin Oaks Terrace and Mission Road Thursday afternoon.

By 5:30 p.m., the fire had spread to five apartment buildings. The Red Cross says it is assisting approximately 120 people who were taken to a nearby church.

Multiple agencies were called to the scene to assist the Harrisonville Fire Department after someone passing by saw the flames.  Early in the battle to put out the fire, firefighters said there were no reports of injuries.
