KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are responding after a suspect reportedly fired at least one shot at an officer Tuesday afternoon.
Officers went to the area of 53rd and Indiana around 4 p.m. on a report of a disturbance, or an armed individual. Police said at the scene, there was an exchange of gunfire. The suspect retreated into a vehicle.
Officers gave verbal commands but the suspect refused to comply.
Police said around 5 p.m. that the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. There were no reported injuries.
Police had the area blocked off with vehicles and flares while handling the investigation.
