Karli Ritter joined FOX 4 in March of 2007 and now forecasts for FOX 4 News from 4:30-9:00 a.m.
Karli's passion for weather started at a young age while she was growing up in central Florida. In between the afternoon thunderstorms, she would often track every hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean on her own personal tracking map. Then she saw a waterspout in the Florida Keys...she was hooked!
Her passion led her from central Florida to the panhandle, where studied at Florida State University. While there, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. During her time at FSU, her involvement with a student-run weather show started her on the path to becoming a television meteorologist. After graduation, she worked in Sarasota, Fla, and Montgomery, Ala.
Since moving to Kansas City, Karli has become involved with Girls on the Run, serving as a head coach since 2008, March of Dimes Bikers for Babies and the FOX 4 Love Fund. She also earned her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal in November 2007 from the American Meteorological Society, making FOX 4 the only station in Kansas City with all four meteorologists certified! Karli also enjoys storm chasing and goes out to chase severe weather any chance she can.
When she's not in the FOX 4 Weather Center, Karli enjoys traveling, cooking, fishing, running (three marathons and counting!), spending time on a boat just about anywhere and playing or watching any sport.
Karli and her husband, Chris, are so happy to call this part of the country home. They live in Kansas City with their two dogs, Luci Lu and Kona.
