Anchor/Reporter

As part of the FOX 4 News team the newscast anchor/reporter collects and analyzes information about newsworthy events. The anchor/reporter must be able to prepare and deliver those stories in a live newscast and on multiple station platforms, including fox4kc.com and social media sites.
Experience:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related field.
• Journalism experience required.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style required.
• Strong computer skills desired
• Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work well with a diverse group of people.
• Must be able to handle stress, including short deadlines.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts which may include overnights, nights and weekends
• Ability to do other tasks as assigned by news management.

Requirements:
The major responsibilities of this job include but are not limited to:
• Prepare and execute live, compelling television newscasts.

Creative Service Marketing Director

The CSD at Fox4 is both creative and strategic. Able to originate and execute messaging that breaks apart from the pack while moving the station’s brand forward on all media. Must be a terrific collaborator and motivator of creative teams and individuals. Should be thoroughly versed in all aspects of the creative process. Must be laser focused on the brand and able to drive on-air and digital strategies that produce measurable results. Position reports to station VP/GM.

Experience:
• Minimum 10 years creative/advertising/production experience in on-air promotion at a network or major market television station including supervisory experience.
• Undergraduate degree in advertising, marketing, communications or a related field is preferred.
• Solid brand development experience and execution.
• Knowledge and ability to effectively develop strategy, conceptualize ideas, supervise all aspects of original and derivative production.
• Ability to maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with creative team and a variety of internal and external parties.

Requirements:
• Directs the day-to-day efforts of the creative team based on established goals.
• Develop and boost the creative level and output of all department members.

Local Account Executive/Sales Representative

The FOX affiliate in Kansas City is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Multi-platform Account Executive to grow our core broadcast business, interactive platforms and digital TV. The AE must develop new business across all platforms. The AE will negotiate rates, maintain account service, prepare and present avails and sales packages to agencies and direct advertisers. The AE will be expected to increase the share of business from existing accounts and create new revenue opportunities utilizing research to position the station as a premiere marketing vehicle. The AE will create and build relationships with WDAF-TV, Antenna TV, This TV and fox4kc.com media clients. Use of Wide Orbit, Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and other technology is a plus. Interactive Content Producer

WDAF-TV/FOX 4 is looking for a Web Content Producer with a passion for breaking news, factual and thorough storytelling, social media, new technology and new tools for digital and mobile story-telling.
• Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
• Experience writing using AP style
• Familiar with managing Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and Instagram for business
• Image and video editing skills (Photoshop & Final Cut Pro)
• Basic knowledge of HTML
• Experience using WordPress or a comparable CMS
• Understanding of Google Analytics, RSS, FTP, SEO, Etc.
• Valid driver’s license

    15% – Contributes story ideas daily and works aggressively to increase traffic on web and mobile platforms. Serves as a leader within the newsroom, offering advice and assistance to other employees. Full discretion in this area.
    10% — Boothing newscasts. Executes newscast plan and manages timing, manages format to maximize meter performance, handles all breaking news within newscast. Full discretion in this area.
