Digital Sales Manager

Details:
This position is an integral part of the sales management team. The DSM is a progressive, creative thinker who can conceptualize, execute, and close revenue producing ideas that connect our advertiser’s goals to our multimedia digital properties, including, but not limited to, the station websites, apps, social media, off-site partners, and marketing services.

This position works on the sales management team in tandem with the Local Sales Manager and National Sales Manager in business development for the overall operation; specifically championing digital sales. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales.

Experience:

• 5 years or more experience in sales, promotions, or marketing required. Digital advertising experience preferred. Sales management experience a plus.
• Ability to translate and communicate problems into opportunities.
• Presentation experience, excellent written and verbal communications essential.
• Creative thinking essential.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, manage time wisely, and prioritize projects and people.
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in PowerPoint, screen sharing, Excel, social media, etc.
• Some technical skills to work with ad tags, analytics, campaign tools.

Requirements:
Major responsibilities and efforts include but are not limited to:
• Drive local digital revenue growth for the station and company; take revenue share out of the market, and create new digital business – be a part of every local advertiser’s budget.
• Work at a partnership/consultative level as an expert in digital advertising with account executives, agencies, and advertisers.
• Work in tandem with the Local, National, and Vice President of Sales in revenue strategy, expense management, training, and overall cross-media revenue production.
• Oversight of all digital sales products, inventory management and pricing strategies.
• Ability to forecast revenue, develop and sustain a business plan to exceed the digital sales budget.
• Management of the digital sales pipeline, including the formation of individual AE budgets.
• Coach and deliver sales presentations in tandem with AE’s.
• Create strong business relationships and develop a sense of team with the AE’s and assist with prospecting, building plans, negotiating and closing deals.
• Brainstorm creative digital promotions that leverage the digital and broadcast assets.
• Develop and deliver best practices for digital knowledge among the sales department and clients.
• Partner with News and Creative Services to support the overall growth of our digital audiences through internal strategic objectives.
• Work with the corporate digital team on corporate led sales initiatives and group sales projects.
• Work with 3rd party vendors to support digital initiatives including ad operations, creative, marketing services, analytics partners, contesting and email programs, lead generation, search, and others.
• Produce reporting, and other support functions of Interactive.

Editor

Edits the newscast and prioritizes edit needs as the newscast deadline approaches.

Responsibilities:
Edit vo’s, vo/sot’s and packages, special opens, and teases for fast-paced newscast
Edit special projects
Manage news edit deadlines. Prioritize rundown schedule on every story makes the newscast on time.
Edit daily web videos, and send to webstaff as needed
Read newspapers / credible news websites daily
Suggest news stories daily
Position requires performance of other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree preferred
At least 2 years experience as a video editor in a news operation
Familiarity with Final Cut 7 / X a plus
Creativity
Ability to take control and manage news edit deadlines

Receptionist

Responsible for WDAF telephone switchboard operations as well as greeting guests. Responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support as needed; and maintains conference room schedule.

 Responsibilities
  • Answers and screens incoming calls; assists callers or determines which calls should be referred to another department
  • Meets, greets and screens visitors and maintains visitor’s log
  • Compiles daily report to alert building security of incoming visitors

Qualifications

Local Account Executive/Sales Representative

The FOX affiliate in Kansas City is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Multi-platform Account Executive to grow our core broadcast business, interactive platforms and digital TV. The AE must develop new business across all platforms. The AE will negotiate rates, maintain account service, prepare and present avails and sales packages to agencies and direct advertisers. The AE will be expected to increase the share of business from existing accounts and create new revenue opportunities utilizing research to position the station as a premiere marketing vehicle. The AE will create and build relationships with WDAF-TV, Antenna TV, This TV and fox4kc.com media clients. Use of Wide Orbit, Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and other technology is a plus. Production Assistant

This position is responsible for performing various duties in support of newsroom production of live and recorded television.

 Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working closely with Directors, Engineering and talent floor directing during live and breaking news.
  • Jib camera operation.
  • Communicate urgent issues effectively while maintaining a sense of control during daily newscasts and in breaking news situations.
  • Teleprompter operation.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work with Senior Director to maintain studio lighting. This includes climbing a ladder, changing fixtures, and changing light bulbs.

Reporter

As part of the FOX 4 News team the newscast the reporter collects and analyzes information about newsworthy events. The reporter must be able to prepare and deliver those stories in a live newscast and on multiple station platforms, including fox4kc.com and social media sites. • Prepare and execute live, compelling television newscasts.

    10% — Boothing newscasts. Executes newscast plan and manages timing, manages format to maximize meter performance, handles all breaking news within newscast. Full discretion in this area.
