Executive Producer

WDAF-TV is looking for an Executive Producer. The successful candidate can handle breaking news when it comes and, when it doesn’t, can still deliver interesting and relevant content to our viewers. You must be innovative, passionate about the news business and understand the importance of multi-platform content. You must also be able to troubleshoot issues, find solutions and make those you supervise better.

College degree and/or equivalent related experience preferably with a minimum of 5 years experience in News production. Candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to build and maintain strong relationships. Must have strong organizational skills and be up-to-date on quality News production. This detail-oriented candidate will be able to follow directions and have the ability to perform duties and make independent decisions under extreme pressure. Business needs may also require individual to be able to work various shifts and times, especially during breaking news events.

News Producer

Are you a producer that is passionate about the news business? Can you showcase a newscast instead of just stacking it? Do you have strong editorial judgment and creativity? If so, WDAF-TV is looking for you.

The qualifications for the job include: four year college degree in journalism or related field preferred, one year of previous television news producing preferred, strong writing skills, basic p.c. and phone skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and managers.

Successful candidates must be a strong writer on multiple platforms, able to produce a dynamic newscast capable of holding and growing an audience, organized, detail oriented, communicative and capable of completing multiple, complex tasks on deadline.

News Reporter 

WDAF-TV is seeking a creative, enterprising reporter to join our news team.

Duties will include developing contacts, finding and enterprising stories,
live reporting, and coverage of breaking news. We prefer a candidate who can
generate content on all platforms; TV, online and social media.

Candidates are required to have prior experience as a television news reporter, a strong engaging on camera presentation and excellent writing and packaging skills.
A college degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
