WDAF-TV is seeking a full-time Assignment Editor with the ability to gather information via phone, email, scanner and personal contacts.  Strong PC and communication skills are required along with strong news judgment.

Duties on a daily basis will include making beat checks, assigning stories to Photographers and Reporters, getting new details on and updating stories, finding stories for daily and feature use, assisting crews with directions and providing information and resources as required.  Multi-taking will be critical since more than one of these duties may need to be performed simultaneously.

Previous television newsroom experience is a plus; preferably on the Assignment Desk. A college degree in journalism or a related field is preferred. The candidate must be able to work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment in which multiple split second decisions critical to the success of the operation are required.

WDAF-TV FOX 4 is looking for a news video editor with a good working knowledge of computers. Candidate must have excellent skills on Final Cut Pro 7 & 10, along with other editing platforms. The individual is expected to edit news stories, vo’s, vo/sots, and reporter packages.

Candidate must have a good work ethic, attitude & willing to work overtime with a flexible work schedule. A college degree in journalism or related field is preferred. Seeking 2+ years broadcast news experience. You should be able to work in a pressure filled newsroom environment with deadlines. This position requires good manual dexterity in order to operate small push buttons and rotary switches on the equipment. Good eyesight and hearing for composition and evaluation of promotional production and programming. Should be able to lift a moderate amount of weight. Temporary Broadcast Engineer

WDAF Fox4 is looking for an experienced television Operational Engineer to join our team of broadcast professionals for a temporary need. The ideal candidate has several years of experience with broadcast automation systems and\or strong computer skills or IT experience.

Requirements:
Master Control Duties include: Prepping syndicated programming, running commercial breaks during newscasts and high-value network & sports programming. Operating the audio mixer and various other broadcast related equipment during the station news shows. Must be able to work in a high pressure atmosphere. Keep the station in compliance with FCC rules and regulations governing television broadcasters including transmitter operations, EAS requirements and logging and compliance with the 1990 FCC Children’s Act.

Must be able to hear distortion in an audio program and maintain an accurate log & write a report of discrepancies. Must accurately check every aspect of each log in the automation system with all provided timing sheets & make certain all programs, commercials, promos & PSAs match. Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of WDAF programming
schedules, programming changes, station sales promotions and other promotional activities, etc. Must professionally represent WDAF by creating and maintaining a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.

Dexterity for operating keys and buttons on computer and typewriter. Vision and hearing and vocal communication skills used to communicate with co workers. Ability to use radios, audio equipment, telephones, etc.

Photographer

WDAF Fox 4 TV is seeking a photographer to join our news team. Duties will include photographing and editing news stories, special events and live shots creatively. Candidates should be able to operate microwave live vans and set up live shots. Understanding the use of lighting, photographic, audio and editing techniques in news production is required. We are seeking a self-starter who works well as a member of a team.

Core Job Functions:
• Insures sound and picture quality of all stories shot.
• Works alone or with a reporter to shoot and edit stories for broadcast.
• Operates ENG microwave vans.
• Non-linear digital editing systems and related programs.
• The ability to read maps/use GPS and navigate quickly.

Creative Services Promotions Producer

The Promotions Producer is responsible for the creation of effective news promotion, topicals and image spots.
