FOX 4 Crystal Apple

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  FOX 4 created the Crystal Apple Award 18 years ago, to recognize outstanding Kansas City educators. Since its inception, FOX 4 has honored more than 100 educators who dedicate themselves as true mentors to the students they teach.

And although only four teachers receive the award each year, thousands more have been given the gift of seeing how much they are appreciated when they receive a copy of their nomination. It’s a joy to read the nomination essays, describing the impact teachers have made on the lives of students, parents and other educators.

Four winners will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of community leaders and personnel from WDAF-TV. Their prize? Each of the winners will receive two round trip Southwest Airlines tickets as well as gift certificates with a total prize package of approximately $1,200.
