Atlas Sports Genetics said testing the level of the ACTN3 gene in child could determine which sports they will play the best.

ill your daughter be the next Venus Williamas? Or will your son be the next Drew Brees?

A new test claims it can tell you which sports your kids could be good at.

The company is called Atlas Sports Genetics. For $160 per kid they’ll send you a kit and instructions. After sending them a DNA swab from your child, they’ll test it for the ACTN3 gene. Accordoing to Atlas, the level of the gene determines what kind of sports your child play well.

“We hope they use it to highlight ways they can train different, or it inspires them in a different way as opposed to simply locking them into a certain sport,” said Nat Carruthers, Atlas president of operations.

The company admits that just because the test results indicate one sport, it doesn’t mean your young athlete will only be good at that sport. They may excel at others too.
