Police: St. Louis Mother Beat Toddler to Death

Thirteen-month-old Tyler Dasher was found dead near the River Des Peres on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2011. His mother, Shelby, is suspected of murder.

The mother of a 13-month-old toddler found dead near a St. Louis County cemetery has been charged with his murder. The cemetery is located near the River Des Peres.

According to FOX 2 Now in St. Louis, Shelby Dasher, 20, beat her son because he wouldn’t stop crying, killing him. Dasher reported her son missing on Tuesday. Hours later Tyler Dasher’s body was found in the woods a few feet from a walking path near the River Des Peres by people walking their dogs.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s office said Tyler’s death was an apparent homicide due to blunt force trauma. His body reportedly had several bruises on it.
