KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City man has been charged in a murder of a man whose body was found last weekend in a home set on fire, prosecutors said on Friday.

Kody O. Saulmon, 19, faces second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges in the death of 25-year-old Nathan L. Davis in a home in the 5400 block of East 28th Street late Friday night.

According to court records, several witnesses told police that Saulmon and another man went into an upstairs bedroom where Davis was shot multiple times and killed. Davis’ body was found by firefighters, who discovered the body while responding to a fire at the house. Davis’ vehicle was also later recovered after being burned and abandoned.

Prosecutors have recommended a $250,000 cash-only bond.
