Metro Youth Football Team Working for Trip to Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A team of young African American football players is thankful on this holiday after they were invited to compete in the American Youth Football League Championships in Florida. Now the players, coaches and parents are working to raise money to make the trip.

FOX 4's John Pepitone is Working for You with the story of the Dugout Rams, and the $12,000 hurdle standing between them and the trip of a lifetime.

There will be a marathon fundraiser for the Dugout Rams to help pay for the team’s trip to a national tournament in Florida at The Dugout 24 Sports Bar & Grill, 2401 Jackson in KCMO from Friday at 8:00 a.m. to Sunday at 6:00 p.m. There will also be a Holiday Mart to raise funds for the team at the New Vision Christian Church, 9101 Blue Ridge Blvd, on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information, or to donate, click here or call (816) 286-9959.
