OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- At about four a.m. Wednesday morning, a woman woke up to her house on fire.
She called 911, telling them the back of her house was on fire. When firefighters from Fire District #2 arrived, they could see the flames in the back of the house and in the attic. They brought it under control and now are investigating its cause. They believe it may have started in the basement.
The woman lives in the home with her husband, but he was not home at the time. She escaped the home and was not injured.
