KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The big names running for President are in Iowa. For one unknown candidate his campaign can't afford to travel to many of the big primary states.
Matthew Turner also didn't get the signatures needed or the thousands of dollars needed to get into the Iowa Caucus. Turner doesn't have the money, but he has the motivation.
He started his campaign just a couple months ago after he wasn't happy with the field of Republican Candidates. His political platform consists of reducing the size of government by getting rid of the Department of Education and the IRS. His 7-7-7 tax plan is similar to a former candidate. A flat seven percent income and sales tax.
Turner currently lives in Roebuck, Alabama. He is a sales manager for a pool company, but he grew up in Salina, Kansas. Turner considers himself a tea party style candidate. He is divorced and doesn't have any children. Turner's hope is word of mouth for a write-in.
