Two Children Seriously Injured in ATV Accident

MIAMI COUNTY, Kan. — Two children are recovering from broken bones, cuts, and abrasions after they collided with a pickup truck while riding their ATV in rural Miami County on Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, the accident occurred near 223rd Street and Switzer Road. Police say that the boys are brothers, ages 14 and 8, from Bucyrus, Kan. The older brother was driving the ATV when police say he ran a stop sign and was struck by a pickup truck.

The boys were taken by ambulance to an area hospital and are expected to recover. The driver of the 2004 Chevy pickup was not injured.
