If You Dare: Smartphone App to Study 3.8 Trillion Dollar Budget
WASHINGTON D.C. — President Obama unveiled his 2013 federal budget Monday showcasing his priorities while promising to trim the deficit over the next decade.
If you want more details on the President’s budget proposal, it’s available on a smartphone. The new app from the Government Printing Office gives access to 216 pages of text and images of one of the four volumes of the president’s spending outline. The rest of the more than 2,000-page budget will be available through the government’s digital data system.
The app is free, compared to the printed copy which costs those interested $218.
The budget proposal is a 3.8 trillion dollar spending outline that comes during an election year. For Republicans, the budget blueprint landed with a thud and they say it will go nowhere.
House Republicans are expected to release their counter-budget proposal in March, but there’s no word yet on whether it will also be available on a smartphone app.
