LIBERTY, Mo. -- Kristine Davis is being called a hero after jumping on top of a man accused of attacking a Liberty police officer.

Christopher Sehie is behind bars and charged with resisting arrest and assaulting officer Jeremy Loy Wednesday morning in the 100 block of South Lincoln Street.

Officer Loy was responding to a report of a possible burglary in the area when he stopped Sehie to question him. Loy said that's when Sehie attacked him. Loy said he even used a taser, but that didn't stop Sehie.

Davis was across the street and saw the scuffle. That's when she sprang into action. She said jumped on Sehie's back, but Sehie fought back, hitting her twice in the face. Sehie ran off, but officers caught him a couple blocks away at Cody's Convenience Store.

Sehie appeared in Clay County court Thursday afternoon via video conferencing. The Judge closed the court for the arraignment because Sehie appeared combative.

Sehie's mother tells Mitch Weber her son has never been in trouble with the law and she believes her son is innocent.

"I think they were probably aggressive towards him first. He wouldn't attack a police officer," says Shannon Sehie.
